    We need teachers who let students ask questions and remind them that they are entitled to make mistakes in college.

    In my last column (May 22nd, 2022), I discussed the steps that must be done to make Research internships (RI) at the undergraduate stage an academic institution. This is an excellent opportunity for more job opportunities for young people who are angry and ambitious. It’s also a step towards holistic, complete education. The NEP (2020) suggests these internships in local industries, villages, companies, etc. As a crucial intervention. In a sense, we need to be able to let go and learn new things when analyzing the text of the NEP. For another reason, the Nobel prize-winning poet Rabindranath Tagore once said that his work was Zamindari, and his obsession was stargazing. He was able to stand on two boats: reality and imagination, and with a keen effort, he was able to keep both ships under perfect control. The interaction of the two mounts that were under his feet is a summary of his whole life and work. The NEP suggests active involvement in the aspect of the experimental learning process. Yes, there are places where there are disagreements too. The individuals responsible for the application of the policy on research internships need to be aware of the following aspects:

    The first step to adopting the idea of IR is to get an accurate knowledge of the what is the status and extent of the undergraduate degree. It is true that in Jammu and Kashmir, higher education seems to be stagnant compared to the school curriculum. The assertion only corroborates the empirical evidence. There is a severe issue in our UG education, bearing in mind the deficiency of high-quality texts, reading materials, and the latest innovations in pedagogy (PG is not without its problems). The issue of high-quality texts for students has been a mystery to our attention for a lengthy time, and we have no strategy to tackle the issue. The last major article about teaching “Economics” written by Sukhamoy Chakrvarty (1986) was an attempt at self-reflection. As the principal architect for the five-year plans, the renowned professor and teacher complained about how this subject is taught in our higher educational institutions. The economics of Srinagar city must be considered in the curriculum of our teachers. During my talk on the theme (RI) in different government colleges, it was emphasized that various stakeholders viz, students, progressive farmers, and people in the Babar Mandal too must be co-opted in the future Board of undergraduate studies to catch up with the principle of multi-stakeholders. The Korea university in Sri-Krishna, located in Andhra Pradesh, with Raghuram Rajan as its advisory panelist, aims at the permeability of borders between the campus and the world. This and more calls for discussion. If we do not allow debate, we’re not teaching and only teaching beliefs to the students. Teachers who are dialogic let students ask questions and remind them that they are entitled to make mistakes in college. Teachers should not be solely service providers but earth-shaker.

    The second is the urgent need to evolve and institute collective management at the UG level. The principal-centric culture of work has to change. The colleges we attend for our undergraduates are under the strict control of a bi-nodal bureaucratic bureaucracy. On the one hand, the affiliating institution and the government bureaucracy, on the other, limit the possibilities for innovative ideas at this stage. The issue of leadership must be based on merit and performance. The location and the focus of power should change for the autonomy of institutions to be distributed. The NEP states that in 2035, all UG-affiliated colleges must be accredited and become autonomous, degree-granting colleges. The autonomy principle states that there is internal decision-making in which crucial decision-making is required across various areas such as curriculum, pedagogy and curriculum assessment, student assistance, etc. This requires collective leadership instead of a single-window clearance that is further impeded by large arms of bureaucracy. The NEP indeed recommends that autonomy be supported by public funds; however, the reality upon the walls is the forces of privatization and corporatization have the support of the state, and they require a collective approach to ensure that alternative resource mobilization can be contemplated and taken to serve the best interests of the students and other key users. Furthermore, we must be aware that the idea of autonomy for institutions sounds like a romantic and soaring fantasy initially, but it also has an equally shady side. To exercise meaningful autonomy, institutions must exhibit a culture of integrity, transparency, and maximum utilization of available resources.

    Thirdly, we must be aware and take action to encourage the practice of writing within our higher education institutions. This should begin at the early school level so that at the college level, it will mature further. It must be adequately crafted and developed to make it part of one of your learning goals. Writing is the only way that students and faculty can determine what they are good at and where they can improve. It should be made a central element of any assessment system. It is possible to suggest that every higher education institution needs to include a “school for writing.” Writing is the only area where we can discover the gaps and holes in our thought. The ‘Great wall’ when we’re asked to write sentences or an application in just three minutes. Carol Loomis, an American financial journalist, once wrote, “writing can make you look and recognize the gaps that you are not thinking about. I’m never certain of what I believe until I can see what I believe. The analytical side of you begins when you can create a story or even a paragraph”. At one point, the College Magazine used to be a significant academic contribution to the lives of the school and community. The publication of “Verinag” – the magazine published by the Degree College Anantnag was always highly anticipated and had an appealing readership in the various groups of society. A review of the content of older issues indicates that most articles were written by authors built based on critical analysis.

    Additionally, it is crucial that a “State-level institute for translating and interpretation” is created in Jammu and Kashmir, which will help provide all systems of knowledge accessible to students through the creation of more translators. In our higher education universities, there’s a shortage of skilled translators to ensure that information available in various languages can be easily accessible to students and faculty. Not to forget that Sam Patroda’s panel on the National Knowledge Commission too had suggested the necessity of a Translation Mission.

    Last but not least, I would suggest to officials in Jammu and Kashmir to consider the creation of the concept of a ” City of education seriously” within Kashmir to provide an avenue for conceiving different plans and exploring various ideas that could be easily transferred to higher educational institutions. The city should offer private, public, and philanthropic entities equal spaces to build their institutions. Many of our higher-education institutions lack the determination and the discipline to compete with elite institutions. A city like this needs to be considered in isolation from the forces of technology-driven capitalism and private investments. State governments are considering contemplating this as a way to collaborate with universities in foreign countries. The requirements and priorities of state governments differ. This (city) can be used to tailor reforms in the NEP to meet the goals of affirmative action and the need for social justice. While the union government has stated that the NEP 2020 is advisory, policy analysts believe that state government should be mindful of “watching UGC.” Higher education institutions are aware of the benefits of implementing the policy rules and the disadvantages of excluding themselves entirely from this system.

    In conclusion, the research-related internships available are feasible and accessible within the soft discipline in the social sciences. There will be greater demand for social sciences and humanities as India enters the ‘ Big League’ of developed nations and an economy that is third in size. Certain scholars have described the twenty-one century as post-industrial society. It will require individuals who can navigate religious and cultural differentiating factors. These differences can destroy the livelihoods and economies of individuals and communities. Following the scandalous Nirubhaya’s murder and rape, the former UGC addressed all higher education institutions to make the study of social sciences mandatory for students of science and technology to stop radicalization within the society. The humanities and social sciences can help in the re-engineering of the mind and also in containing the de-intellectualization of students. We must appreciate Tagore’s love of dialogue between agriculture and culture, cities and villages. The traditional and the contemporary conventional and modern, the East and West, were the reasons for the creation of both Santiniketan and Srinikatetan. In the future, Visva Bharti will be thought of as a gathering venue for scholars from all over the globe to share their expertise. Tagore’s vision should guide the execution of NEP 2020.

    Education Profile: The new Keiser University Ein Campus has Specific programs for Career development.

    Students aged 25 to 35, including returning veterans, are eager to start working.

    Keiser, the University’s ein Port St. Lucie campus, was officially relocated in March. It is now housed in a 75,000-square-foot two-story structure in Tradition.

    The new campus is replacing the old campus, which was located at the plaza of U.S. 1 in Port St. Lucie for more than 15 years.

    Additionally, the university relocated its Golf & Sports Management College from Port St. Lucie to the West Palm Beach area, where dormitories house students mainly from other countries.

    The new building is part of Tradition. At one point, the previous Digital Domain site had been contemplated for the Port St. Lucie location. Still, its size125,000 square feet, as well as other logistical hurdles, resulted in the decision of the university to construct its building on the acreage near Traditional Medical Center and Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies.

    “The Digital Domain building was more than what we needed,” said Arthur Keiser, founder of the university with campuses throughout Florida. “With the new facility, we’re able to accommodate our non-traditional students, primarily adult learners. The building utilises space well, featuring an outer and inner circle of laboratories and classrooms.

    “We have 48 classrooms, including 16 different labs, plus faculty and administrative offices,” Kristof said.”Our most well-known programs are allied health and nursing, with dietetics and nursing expanding.

    “Other programs have the opportunity for growth, including forensic investigation and criminal justice, graphic arts and video games, business administration, accounting and integrated marketing and communications,” she explained. “We’re exploring new programs and identifying community needs.”

    Keiser said that students on the Port St. Lucie campus are older adults, not the typical 18-year-olds who enter college.

    Veterans of the military enrolling

    “The Port St. Lucie campus and other non-traditional campuses offer career-focused programs, and that attracts students between the ages of 25 and 35, including a significant number of military veterans who have served in the Middle East,” Keiser ein stated.

    “Because it is our business, we have designed our courses specifically for the kind of student. We offer one course at each time and arrange the students to ensure they can take the courses they require within their schedule,” Keiser said. “The types of students we teach could be exhausted by the time they get to the class.

    “We are also very strict with our dress code and attendance requirements because our programs are designed for them to move into the professional environment following graduation,” He said.

    Kristof said that the proximity to Traditional Medical Center and Torrey Pines could provide additional possibilities available to Keiser university students.

    “We have a relationship with Tradition Medical Center,” she explained, “and we’re talking about how we can offer clinical sites to our students. We’re also trying to establish a relationship with Torrey Pines, as it’s among our neighbouring institutions.”

    Keiser noted that any of the more significant aspects of the college is its commitment to providing the necessary education to the communities in which campuses are situated.

    “We are committed to the Treasure Coast,” Keiser explained. “We regularly meet with community leaders in the area to find out their requirements, and we also include local business and community members on our advisory boards. Even though we’ve experienced some rough times with the economic downturn, we’d like to play a key part on our Treasure Coast to help businesses and other industries in the region.”

    Keiser University Student Takes Off In 2022’s State Of Port Address.

    Lyndee Lenegar is a California native who relocated to Florida after joining the military when she was 17. She served in Jacksonville as an Air Crewman with the Naval Forces for approximately six years. When she finished her service in the Navy, Linegar was aware that she wanted to pursue a degree in Transportation and Logistics, given her previous experience. However, she still needed to decide which route to follow. She earned an associate degree at a university in the area. She then chose Keiser University Jacksonville to officially finish the Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration – Transportation and Logistics that she aims to receive in August this year.

    With the assistance of Dr Jeremy Smith, a professor at Keiser Jacksonville, Linegar landed a full-time employment contract for TOTE Maritime Jacksonville. This well-known national carrier manages logistical and shipping requirements via shipping by sea. Since starting at their office about six months ago, the employee claims that she’s seen lessons learned in the classroom (such as business communication and ethics) take on the real world.

    “I think it’s great,” Lenegar told reporters. “It furthered my love and appreciation for the transportation industry.”

    Linegar is also President of Keiser’s University of Jacksonville’s student section that is part of the Propeller Club, which she was a candidate for at the suggestion of Dr Smith. The club was dormant for several months because of the pandemic. Now, thanks to Lenegar’s assistance as president, the club is back to its previous splendour.

    “I knew I had a lot to offer, being in the industry already and having prior [club board] experience,” she declared.

    In the early months of March, Linegar, along with the club’s vice president, represented Keiser University at the 2022 State of Port address, the annual gathering that sees members of the Jacksonville Propeller Club come together to discuss growth and plans for the industry over the coming year. This year, the Jacksonville Propeller Club is unique in the international division of taking on two ports for students instead of only one. The student ports are institutions that more prominent Propeller Club divisions select as partners and use students to volunteer for events and activities. The students were at Keiser University and the University of North Florida this year.

    Keiser University in Jacksonville was given a check $5,000 of $5,000 from Propeller Club Jacksonville, which could be used as part of a scholarship that will help students in need in the coming Transportation and Logistics degree programs or to purchase new equipment in Keiser’s Transportation and Logistics program itself.

    The Campus president Lisamarie Winslow accepted the check on behalf of the university. She declares she is proud to see students working tirelessly for their Propeller Club. Keiser University is the only university or college that was awarded a grant.
